Yesterday it was a return to riding. Today it was time to return to running.
The session today was nice and easy, a good way to ease myself back into the groove of running. It felt okay. I didn't get to much of that feeling you get sometimes when you haven't run for a while and your body tries to remember how it puts one foot in front of the other. I think by the end of the run my system had had a small shock back into reality, but I often find that my body also remembers what is going on pretty quickly. So hopefully by my next run on Thursday it will be a bit more with it. It will have to be, Thursday's run isn't an easy jog like this mornings was.
It was pretty chilly this morning, felt a lot like Winter. I am wondering perhaps if somebody forgot to remind Winter that is supposed to be over for the year. Whilst it was on the cool side, one thing that is definitely on the improve is the amount of daylight on offer. There is still a fair way to go, I mean I am still heading off in the dark, but I am not getting home in the dark. It is an enticing glimpse of what is to come.
Whilst I have had an easy ride and run to ease my way back into training, I think my body could be in for a bit of a rude shock tomorrow morning on the swimming front. I am back to the pool in the morning to take part in the Wednesday morning Swim Smooth set. Whilst not super intense, it is a very long set. I had been keen to get a swim in last weekend, but I was still feeling rotten on Saturday so I had stayed out of the water. As a result I haven't swum since we left Bintain, so I will be interested to see how my body copes in the morning. It could be unpleasant. I am a little apprehensive to say the least. Oh well, there is only one way to get back into it.
