Well this morning I headed off for my usual Tuesday morning cross country run. But this afternoon... no intervals. Thanks to the beginning of my taper, double run Tuesday has become just run Tuesday. It is a very nice break, I really enjoyed getting to the end of my run and thinking, well that is me done for the day, just a pesky 8 hours of work and then the rest of the day is mine.
The run went pretty well too. Good speed. It was a pretty tough run though. This session is always a bit of a strength workout and I had gone pretty hard in the first half, so the tail end of the run was a bit of a fatigue fest. Part of the reason that the run went well is that there was heaps of beach along the river. I am not sure what happened to all the water, it was like somebody had pulled a plug, the river was so low. I had checked the tides yesterday and I thought it would touch and go as to whether there would be enough sand to run on today. Turns out I shouldn't have to worried. Plenty of sand.
The large amount of sand also meant it was easier for me to avoid running into/tripping over, or otherwise impacting with anything that would have resulted in me falling over. I did roll my ankle a little bit over a rock early on the run, but I managed to stay upright, so I have decided to not count that as my Tuesday Stack. So another Stack free cross country run this week. Hooray.
Off to the doctor tonight which should be interesting. Not a statement that you would usually associate with a doctor visit, but I don't anticipate this being an ordinary doctor's visit. I had some blood tests the other day to see if my asthma is caused by any particular allergens. Turns out that dust is a big factor for me. So this visit is about things that I can do to reduce my sensitivity to dust, a desensitising regime I think it is called. The outcome of which should be less problems with asthma. That is the theory anyway. Anything that results in less asthma is fine by me. Hence the interesting. We shall see.
