That's a bit weird, I could have sworn I posted this yesterday, but I obviously got distracted. Anyway this was supposed to be the post from Monday the 26th. If you read this, some of the stuff I said in the Tuesday post (which is the post below) will probably make a bit more sense.
I have a cruisy spin on the training program today. The plan this morning had been to get up and do it on the way to work. I didn't work out that way.
Firstly, I forgot to set my alarm. Very unlike me, but it does happen time to time. No big deal though, I only woke up about 15 minutes late, so the morning wasn't written off yet. In fact I got ready pretty quickly and so was good to go at about the time I had orignally planned anyway.
Then the rain started.
For sesssions like this I have a window of opportunity. I really need to be out and gone by 6:30, 6:45 at the absolute latest. Any later than that and I will get to work too late. It might be blue skies and sunshine by 7:00, but that is to late for me, I need to have made alternative plans by then.
That is how this morning went. From when I was ready to go, until my window of opporunity closed, it rained, and rained pretty well. A couple of times I thought, it isn't to bad, time to go, I will just get a bit wet. That was usually the cue for the next front to hit and the rain to get serious again.
I am not sure what that means for my ride yet. It will depend a little bit on what the weather does for the rest of the day. It looked like it was clearing for a while there, but now I am not so convinced. If it does, then I think a spin around this evening might be the go. If not, not sure. I am a bit reluctant to jump on the wind trainer because:
a) I don't like doing things different this close to a race; and
b) it is boring.
I suspect I will end up waiting until tonight and seeing what the weather has for me.
