Mixed bag

Well compared to yesterday the weather this morning was much clearer, which was very nice. In fact it ended up being a glorious day weatherwise. When I was heading out on the bike though the weather was still grumpy enough that I wasn't convinced that it was going to be dry, so I headed out on the trusty road bike, rather than expose the P5 to another wet ride. In the end my concern proved unfounded, so that was a pleasant surprise. Still pretty windy though.

The ride for this morning was a shorter one with a few intervals in it. Once out on the bike, things went a bit better than yesterday, but I still struggled with the required speeds, but I was much closer this morning. After about halfway I started to settle into the ride a little and so the second half was a bit better than the first.

Once I was off the bike it was time to head out for a run. My legs were still feeling pretty flat and so the plan was just to keep it pretty cruisy. Much to my surprise though a few kms in I found I was running at a pretty good pace. I deliberately didn't try and hold the pace, rather keeping the run comfortable, since I didn't want to fall in a big hole. But the pace remained good and by the end of the run I was a little shocked to see it was a PB. I think I could fairly honestly say I didn't really feel good for the entire run, but the speed stayed there, which I guess is probably a good thing.

After some discussions between Daryl and myself, we have decided that I could probably do with a rest, so I am having a rest day tomorrow. I can fairly honestly say that I feel like I need it.

Sleep in time.
