That was unpleasant. I had to have a blood test this morning, one that required fasting for 12 hours or so. Which meant no breakfast this morning. Eating is usually one of the last things I do before bed and the first thing I do when I get up. Going 12 hours or so without food is not something my body enjoys. I was going a little crazy there for a minute or two, my body was craving some carbohydrates, cardboard was starting to look good. All good now though, blood test is done and I have now eaten my late breakfast, although inhaled may be a better description rather than eaten. I have had a coffee and now I feel human again.
There is some serious rain going on in Perth at the moment. I haven't started gathering two of each kind of animal yet, but I might start stockpiling some of my favourites pretty soon (well at least the tasty ones). The persistent precipitation has required some deft rearranging of sessions though. Riding last night was going to be an exercise in misery, so I have shifted that session to tonight. The rain is supposed to be clearing by tonight, which hopefully it does. There is a run on the program for this morning, which I was always planning on doing in King's Park at lunch. Doing the run at lunch time in King's Park meant I could have a sleep in this morning, but more on that later. Also the run session is supposed to involve hills, which King's Park has a plentiful supply of, so doing it this way works out pretty well. I will head out to King's Park as soon as I am able to make the session a run rather than an aquathon.
Now the sleep in. Ahhhh, it has been ages since I had a proper one of those. I spent nine hours in bed last night. Nine. It was glorious. If I had been able to get out of bed and eat some food I think it could possibly have been a perfect morning. Even without food it was a pretty good way to start the day. I wouldn't be up for it everyday, I think I would get bored, and I would start to miss seeing the sunrise, but once every few weeks, what a treat.
Now all I need is for this rain to ease up so that I can enjoy my ride tonight.
