Not a chicken and brie sandwich

I unfortunately haven't been able to stuff myself full of chicken and brie sandwiches over the last couple of days at work, since the training exercise I have been involved in didn't have them. Very disappointed. They did however have these rather lovely little chocolate brownie things and some rather awesome meat pies at lunch. So they kind of make up for the lack of chicken and brie. I am certainly not feeling hungry right now.

Given the eating of the last couple of days, it is probably not a bad thing that I was out for a easy run this morning. Just a fairly easy recovery run, which I once again struggled with the recovery part of. But it did feel pretty good. Also not to cold for a change which was very nice. I was pretty conscious of the hamstring though, like Tuesday morning it was tight again but it didn't cause me any real issues. Just something I have to keep an eye on I guess.

It was a pretty okay ride in King's Park last night. The hill repeats went okayish. A little bit quicker than Monday morning, but I find that generally I do ride a bit faster in the afternoons so no big surprise. I got a bit rained on, but it wasn't heavy so it can be forgiven, plus the rain meant that it wasn't freezing cold. The annoying thing was that when I got home the roads there were completely dry, so the showers were obviously isolated. I just wish they weren't isolated to where I was riding. Perth is a big city, surely there was somewhere else the showers could have been isolated to. Oh well.

After the hills, I wasn't really motivated to ride anywhere else so I just kept doing laps of the Park until it was time to head for home. I don't usually do that, since doing extra laps of King's Park, means extra hills, but for some reason the mood took me last night, so that is what I did. It was pretty pleasant. Despite the hills, King's Park is a nice place to ride, the roads are interesting, it is quite pretty and there aren't that many cars, plus the cars that are there travel pretty slow. It sure does get dark though, since there aren't really street lights, so that is a downside. Doing laps around the park isn't something I would do every ride, but it is nice time to time.

Off to the Swim Smooth Friday morning swim session tomorrow morning. The Friday morning session can be pretty tough, but then again that is the point. I wasn't there last week, but some of the others described it as 'another level'. Not in a good way. You never quite know what you have waiting for you when you get to the pool. We shall have to wait and see.
