Not a fairy tale

I considered trying to continue the fairy tale themed titles today, but just couldn't come up with anything good. Oh well.

It was one of those rides today. This is not a good thing.

An hour in I got a pinch flat, unusual I thought, but these things happen. Haven't had a flat tyre for a while, so can't complain to much when they do happen. Changed the tyre, happened to be not far from home, so I actually nipped home to get another spare and get my tyre up to normal pressure. Headed out again and had a hard but uneventful session. I was just about home, in the last 5kms of the ride, when the back tyre suddenly started rubbing. I quickly pulled over to see I had a bulge of tube out the side of the tyre. Mustn't have seated it properly I thought, strange that it has taken a few hours to show itself though. Deflate tyre, re-seat tyre, re-inflate tube. Get another couple of kms down the road, same thing again. Same process to get it fixed. By this time I just wanted to get home so I limped home for the last few kms, taking it extra gentle, I made it, but now I need to take the tyre off and see what is going on. Pretty close to brand new tyres, so will be annoyed if it is a fault with the tyre. Will wait and see.

I would usually head off to a Swim Smooth session on a Saturday afternoon, but tomorrow I am heading to  Guilderton (about an hour north of Perth) for a day trip. Guilderton is on the Moore River, which is a pretty nice river for swimming, so I will take the opportunity to take the wetsuit up and have a good open water swim. It is a bit hard to get in good open water swims in Perth during winter, so I am keen to take the opportunities when they arise. Last time I did this it the water was burningly cold. This time the plan is to wear a couple of caps to see if I can keep a bit of warth in. We shall see.
