A bit of a run this morning, it was the first one back since Cairns and so it was a pretty cruisy session. Like most of the sessions this week, it didn't feel great, but it was more about getting out and getting the legs moving, rather than breaking records. So from that point of view, mission accomplished.
It felt freezing this morning as I headed out for my run. I almost considered wearing two layers. I didn't, and by the end of the run I was glad I hadn't, but it was unpleasant heading out the door. Strangely enough it wasn't actually that cold according to the weather report. But it sure felt it.
One more day of my crazy week at work done. Just two more to go. I am not happy about having a week at work where I am counting down to the weekend. On the whole I don't have many weeks like this, but they do happen from time to time. If only somebody would pay me to train full time. Hmmm....
The trip to the doctor last night was interesting. She is pretty sure that my persistent cough is caused by asthma. Like a lot of people I had asthma as a child, however it was pretty mild and after high school it stopped really causing me much of an issue, to the point where I haven't really given it much thought for the last decade or so. But from what she was saying, you get bigger and the effects might get less pronounced, but your body doesn't change, the asthma doesn't go away. Certain things, such as cold weather, exercise, hayfever and having a cold really aggravate the asthma, which can lead to symptoms like a persistent cough. I have some new medication, so hopefully I can slap this cough in the face with it. Given it is a new medication, the first thing I will do is check it against the register of permitted medications though. I am looking forward to feeling better, so hopefully this new inhaler does the trick.
