It was back to the pool this morning. I have to say that felt weird. Then again it usually does after a week or so out of the pool. It all started feeling sort of normal again by the end of the session. Still a bit of a shock and certainly not pretty, but getting back towards normal.
A bit of a spin on the bike tonight, I am still finding my legs again, so it wasn't a particularly long, or tough ride. It still is not feeling back to normal, but it did feel better than yesterday's ride, so that is an improvement. For something different I just did a few laps around the Nedlands foreshore, near the University of WA. Very nice patch of road, although not great in the dark. Usually doing laps over the same piece of road would not particularly appeal to me, but I just thought it would be a bit of a change from my usual Tuesday night rides. Change is as good as a holiday and all that. It was a nice change, but I don't think I will be repeating it every Tuesday.
On my Tuesday night rides I start at work and finish at home. It can be tricky planning the ride so that you arrive at home having ridden for the required time. It is always very satisfying when you pull it off though. Tonight I got to have that satisfying feeling. I rolled into home having ridden for the desired amount of time, almost down to the second. Perfect. Sometimes it is the little things that can make a day.
Life is a little mad at the moment, work is going through a bit of a crazy patch. It should all be done by the end of the week. But this week, on top of the travel from last week, on top of the Cairns 70.3 before that, means that life feels like it has been upside down for a while now. I am looking forward to getting this week done and dusted and hopefully life then returning to something a little like normal.
Off to the doctor tomorrow night to see if they can do something about this cold. On the phone they seemed to think it was worth coming in. So fingers crossed they can do something to get rid of it a little quicker.
