I have good grounds for getting sick if that is what I decide to go with. My son is currently a roving snot monster due his own cold and it is kind of hard to avoid his germs. It will probably be more of a miracle if my wife and I don't get sick. Oh well, at least I am not trying to train obsessively any more. Getting sick while I was racing could be a disaster that cost a race if it came at the wrong time. Now if I get sick it will simply suck because I will be sick. In a way getting sick while I am not training will kind of be a novelty, although it is a novelty that I could happily do without. I guess I shall just have to see how I am feeling in the morning.
Earlier this morning I was feeling fine and so I did manage to get a rather lovely spin done on the Kickr. I must be getting back into the rhythm of exercise if I can think of 90 minutes on the Kickr as lovely, but there you go. I really quite enjoyed it. Focusing on doing some work, but also staying at a steady intensity meant I was able to push out a reasonable power for the duration. It is hard to put a finger on why I would do that, why work hard on the bike when I am not preparing for a race? The best answer I can give is because it feels good to do the work. Not sure if that is a good answer, but it is the best one I have at the moment. It felt good and so I did it and enjoyed the process. When you aren't training for anything in particular you can choose the sessions that you enjoy and this morning that happened to be 90 minutes on the Kickr.
Speaking of bikes, here have a picture.
I posted this photo on Saturday, but today I edited it into black and white and damn if it didn't turn out really nice (to my eye anyway). It came up so well that felt like posting it again. So there you go, enjoy. You can call the Ridley Dean many things, but one it isn't is ugly. Fine looking piece of machinery right there.
And with that piece of random cycling photography I think I am done here. Hopefully a bit of exercise on the horizon tomorrow,, but that will depend entirely on how I feel when I wake up. Roving snot monsters away!!!
