Quiet Day

Well the rest day today has been pretty much what it says on the packet. Nice and restful and fairly uneventful. Not often I am lost for words, but to be honest I don't really have much to say today.

Today is a bit of a calm before the storm. This week is my last week of really solid training before heading into the Rottnest Long Course. Whilst today is a quiet one, I suspect it will be the last quiet day that I have until next week. As I have mentioned a couple of times over the last week or so, training has been going very well recently, and I am very keen to continue that for the week to come. If I can manage hold form through this one last week of solid training then I am hopeful of heading into the race in reasonable form.

Whilst today has been a quiet one, tomorrow will be just a little bit more intense with both a ride and a run on the agenda. The ride will be taking place on the Kickr, not for any weather related reasons, but rather for the training benefit of it. The session is a couple of hours, which is about the range of my comfort limit on the Kickr, so hopefully I can maintain mental strength and get through the session without descending into madness. Although that goal can be said for most of my sessions really.

Tomorrow afternoon is a bit of an interval session with some short, sharp speed work. For this session I will be heading back to the AlterG treadmill and Front Runner Sports. I am still keen on exploring the training benefits of this beast of a machine. It has been down for maintenance for the last couple of weeks, but I still have happy memories of the leg speed training that I got from it a few weeks ago. Eager to have that gain.

Well that is not a bad effort for a day where I have nothing to say, but I think I really am out of words now. Cracking on with it tomorrow, but first an afternoon of rest.
