I have just made a very small but significant change to this site. A bit hard to spot.
If you look closely you may notice that the introductory words under the title at the top of the page have changed a little bit. They no longer say that this blog is about an age group triathlete...
The reason that I decided to officially make the change today is that I have just successfully entered my first race as a Professional. I will now, definitely, be racing the Putrajaya 70.3 in the Professional field. It is a bit of a big day for me, in what has been a bit of a big week.
In other news...
A bit of training today. I think I mentioned the other day that this week is a quiet one training wise. There is officially no program, just keep moving was the instruction, no program does not equal no training. Today has really been the first day I was able to get something done. Monday was lost to travel, Tuesday was lost to being exhausted, and Wednesday was spent getting over that exhaustion. So now that I am more or less back to normal, it was time to get back to training.
That training took the form of a bit of a spin around the place with some of the guys from Break Your Limits. It ended up being a bit more of a spin about actually, with some of the guys really smashing out a solid session. Good to be back on the bike and moving though. Other activities for the day have included a massage and at the end of the day I will of course have to ride home (might take that one a bit easier).
Tomorrow morning I am really looking forward to getting back down the pool and jumping into the Friday Swim Smooth session. As painful a session as it is, it is always a lot of fun too. Hopefully I am feeling as enthusiastic about the session after I have done it.
The weather is scheduled to take a turn for the horrible at some point tomorrow and stay that way for most of the weekend, so my training plans for the Saturday and Sunday are a bit up in the air at the moment. I will do something active on Saturday morning, and I am hoping that by Sunday morning the weather has eased off enough to make a ride possible. In the end I don't want to go to crazy with the training. When your coach ominously tells you to take it easy 'because you will need it', it tends to make you a little cautious.
Good to be moving again though.
