It is great to finally be home. I actually got in last night/this morning, I just haven't had a chance to write this until now.
Yesterday was a long, but uneventful day of travel. 19 hours door to door I think I worked out. About three and a half movies worth if you like measuring time in the traditional way. That ended up getting me into bed about 2:00am. I often don't sleep well the night after a race, so my bad night's sleep on Sunday night combined with a very short sleep last night means that I am currently on around 8 hours sleep in the last two days. I am surprised how coherent I am considering.
Although I must admit I am not all that coherent. It has been a day of walking into rooms and then trying to remember why I came in.
Given my recent arrival back home there has been no training today. Probably no training tomorrow either unfortunately. I would usually be quite keen to be back into training by the Wednesday after a race, but at the moment my priority is sleep. I don't want to risk getting sick simply because my body is run down. Besides coaches instructions are to take it easy this week. Heading into a couple of weeks of tough training starting next week. So the aim for this week is just making sure the body is recovered enough to cope with that. I will be looking to be back on the bike by Thursday though.
I haven't got to my race report yet either, on account of my lack of the ability to think. I should get to it in the next couple of days though, sleep pending.
Speaking of sleep...
