Eyes bigger than stomach

I have a bit of a confession to make, quite a shameful one for a supposed athlete. Today at work we had a morning tea where everybody bought a plate. The unfortunate thing was though that EVERYBODY bought a plate. As a result we had waaaay to much food, none of it particularly nutritious.

Like most athletes I am ruled mostly by my stomach, so when presented with an almost unlimited amount of food, I had trouble walking away. I may possibly have eaten so much morning tea that I haven't eaten anything else since.

The 'I do lots of exercise' excuse only stretches so far. In fact I think I may be feeling a little ill...

Speaking of doing lots of exercise though, the swim this morning went well. It was a very tough session with 10 x 200m. All the 200s were fairly quick, but the last 4 were done above threshold pace. It was a bit of a smashfest. I must admit that our lane was only able to make the target time on half of the last 4 efforts, but it was one of those sessions were that was sort of the point. Pushing right to the limit.

Still not quite enough to offset a massive morning tea though.

Now I had better go, there seems to be a bit of a tummy bug moving through our house this week, so there are some family members in urgent need of some TLC.
