A positive day today. I wasn't at work today, having a rostered day off, so that got the day off to a good start. I had a decent swim session which was very welcome. And finally I was at the physio today and it sounds like my back should come good, which was a big relief.
I have held off writing this blog today until I had got to the physio this afternoon, since that appointment was going to have a significant bearing on the contents of this blog. If the feedback from the physio was that by back was in a bad way, well to be honest I am not sure what I would have done. It took me 12 weeks to sort it out last time, that is a long time...
So I was very relieved to hear physio extraordinaire Lee-Anne at The Running Centre say that it seemed to just be muscle tightness. She got right in there with some massage and some needles and it seemed to release. Still a bit sore, so not 100%, but a definite improvement.
Same with the the hamstring as well. That has been coming good under its own steam, but it was good to get to the physio to help it along a little. Lee-Anne really laid into that with some needles and freed it up a bit more.
It is all going to need a bit of care, but I am hopeful that it will continue to improve.
On to the bike this morning for what looks like an interesting long ride. A bit of a mix of hills and long intervals. Should be fun. Whilst the back is improving, I will need to nurse it a bit, so that will probably mean a few stops to stretch it out over the course of a long ride. But I am pretty sure it will get through okay.
Certainly frustrating to not be 100%, but the news that there is currently nothing long term wrong has meant today has been a pretty good day in my books.
