Gym Junkie

So I hit the gym today. And when I say hit the gym I mean properly.

I have been doing strength work at home for years, but today I actually went to a gym. I can't remember the last time I did that. Fair to say it would be a while.

My foray back to the gym was due to the new training program I am starting from tomorrow. Strength work plays a big part in the program and to do it properly I really need the facilities of a full gym. Hence the visit today.

The visit today was really around getting familiar with the gym again before hitting it more earnestly next week.

Over the years I have spent a lot of time in gyms, I mean a lot. Between WAIS during the rowing days, surf club and even some time during the triathlon days I have been spending regular time in gyms for more years of my life than I haven't been, so I know my way around a gym. However, in my experience there is always more to learn and that was the case today. A good athlete is one who never stops striving for improvement through learning and development. From today I picked up a few different exercises that I haven't seen, or different ways of doing exercises that I am familiar with. All up some good ideas on the for the coming sessions.

 I think I might be sore tomorrow.
