Next Phase

A great relaxing day off work today. Just what the doctor ordered.

Today was my rostered day off and as such I have had a lovely time relaxing and generally not doing much. It is great to be able to do that sort of thing from time to time.

That quiet day extended both to coaching and exercising, not a lot going on in either of those spaces. On the coaching side of things I had my first post Busso athlete appointment and on an exercise side of things I had a fun time falling in the ocean off a paddle board. Nothing too strenuous, although the plan is for that to change tomorrow.

Tomorrow marks two weeks since Busso and as such I am just starting to see my Busso athletes to plan the next steps. I had my first post Busso appointment today and then a number of them tomorrow. For all the athletes I am seeing tomorrow the focus going forward it pretty straight forward, World Champs, World Champs, World Champs. Both the ITU World Champs and the 70.3 World Champs are coming up in early September, so the focus for the next 15/16 weeks is a bit of a given. While the goal of working towards World Champs is a big one, it is nice to have such a clear objective to work towards.

Having a clear goal and motivated athletes who are keen to work towards that goal makes the coaching game pretty easy. Pretty enjoyable too. Ironically, given we are now in the off season, the next phase is probably going to be one of the most exciting. Can't wait.
