Half way through a coaching palooza at the moment. I try and plan out my coaching work pretty carefully, try and avoid big weekends where I am trying to write loads of programs at once as there is a risk I will end up rushing them.
That didn't work too well this week.
This weekend has ended up being a bit of a perfect storm. Being down in Busselton last weekend meant that I didn't get as much work done as I usually would. This lack of work pushed a lot of the coaching load onto this weekend. This weekend was already looking pretty heavy on the coaching side of things so adding more has just made it worse. As a result I am writing programs for nearly all of my athletes this weekend. Not ideal I have to say.
Still, as I mentioned above, I am about half way through, so things are looking good. Should be able to complete the remaining programs tomorrow morning giving people time to digest what is coming in the next few weeks for them.
Besides the coaching madness we have been trying to have a bit of a quieter weekend. I was away last weekend, and we have a small family trip next weekend, so we are taking the down time where we can get it today and tomorrow. Having said that, tomorrow is a pretty busy day too, so not sure how effective we have been at "taking it easy".
I also have a bit of a paddling race tomorrow to cram in there too. Pretty low key affair if I am honest, really just doing the race as a bit of training, like a long Tempo session. Entry for the event was only $12, so not exactly high stakes, but it is an event I like supporting so I thought I would head along and take part.
So yeah, I think I might take back the previous comment about taking it easy. Between racing, writing a bunch of programs and family visits to various places I am not sure how much relaxing we are going to be doing. Should be a fun day though.
