Relaxing

For what feels like the first time in weeks we are having a nice relaxing weekend at home, doing not one hell of a lot.

I am not sure if it really has been weeks since we last did nothing on a weekend, but it certainly feels that way. This time of year you get so caught up at Christmas functions, gatherings and general Christmas preparation, that it can be hard to get time to yourself. All the Christmas stuff is great, but it can be nice to sit on a couch and take a deep breath from time to time, which is what we have been doing plenty of today.

Getting to this time of year, our entire family unit is definitely ready for some downtime. The kids have made it to the end of a long year of school and we are both nearly at the end of a long year of work. Throw in a minor house move and some other fun activities and it has been a solid year. Moving deeper into the school holidays there are definitely going to be activities aplenty, but for now I think everybody is ready for just a few days of sitting very still and being quiet. Which is what we did a lot of today.

As we prepare to dive into Christmas proper, it has been great to have the chance to relax a little. The calm before the storm perhaps. Fair to say our household is super keen for the events of Tuesday week, but it has been great to have a chance to spend time relaxing as a family before the chaos sets in.
