Moving on

Sorry for no post yesterday. We are moving house at the moment... Enough said really.

They say moving house is one of the most stressful experiences in life and currently I am pretty on board with that synopsis. I was all okay until the process actually starting yesterday and then it all got hard. I think I held it together pretty well, but I did watch my wife have a bit of a mental meltdown at 1:00pm as the number of things that needed doing was at its most overwhelming. I saved my meltdown until 1:00am this morning. Much better.

We have been working on this move for a couple of weeks now, moving small stuff to the garage of the new house, which the old owners kindly let us do pre-settlement. However, yesterday we kicked off the move proper, with the removalists coming in and moving across all our furniture. By the end of yesterday we had the stereotypical bombsite at our new place.

The bombsite was such that I actually didn't train today, not because of any issue, but more because I just wanted to get on with this house move. I knew that if I went training I would spend the entire time thinking about the move, so instead I got up at 5:30 and got on with the move with the plan to work on the house flat out for the day. By the time I took a break at 10:30 this morning things were looking heaps better. Both wife and I are in much happier places now. Still a very long way to go, but things have taken a good step forward now. As it is looking, hopefully by the end of tomorrow we are in a decent place both in the new house and the old one which we are vacating. I am playing with the idea of taking Monday off if I need, but we will see how things are looking by the end of tomorrow.

If things are feeling more relaxed by tomorrow then I will definitely be looking to train as a bit of a stress relief. Fingers crossed we are in the position.

Needless to say with the next few days, if posting is a little sporadic, you can probably guess why.
