Week ahead

Today I had one of those great days that were supposed to go until 4:30 but finished up at 2:30 instead. Early mark for me and a very welcome shorter day for once. It was very nice to get home at a reasonable time for once. All up it made for a nice relaxing day.

Like yesterday, today is another quiet one on the coaching front too, but it is really just a bit of a calm before the storm. From tomorrow the coaching activities for the week ramp up quite solidly.

Tomorrow it is the Red Mist session down at Swim Smooth. Not much to say on this one, other than to say I hope the squad likes 200s... If they do, then they probably won't after tomorrow morning. Hmmm, ominous much?

Thursday it is Tempo bike intervals with the Front Runner Tri Team. Big long intervals for these guys. Probably the last long Tempo session before Busso 70.3 for many of them. A nice solid session with some good race preparation work and a number of laps around King's Park. Should be a pretty good bit of work.

Friday it is back down to Claremont Pool for the Swim Smooth Threshold session. That is quite a way off so no hints about what that session will contain, but fair to say it will be a challenging one. It always is after all.

Saturday I am not running any sessions, rather I will be heading down to Coogee beach to watch a couple of my athletes compete in one of the local races. One athlete will be doing his first Sprint Distance Tri for the season and the other will be doing the Duathlon. They have both been training really well, so it will be great to see them put that training into action and see what they can do for the first races of their seasons.

Finally Sunday. Sunday is a bit more of an unknown, but there is a good chance that it will include a swim session with some mates. I write the program, they do the swimming.

Phew, busy week ahead, my fingers are worn out just typing it all. The typing might be tough, but the doing should be a whole bunch of fun. Can't wait.
