Jammed Pack

Just noticed that I had a mistake in the title of yesterday's blog. Bit of a rookie mistake. Oh well, all fixed now.

Just about ready to get on with my week of coaching tomorrow. Monday and Tuesday are typically quiet for me on the coaching front, which is kind of deliberate, it is nice to have a chance to do my own thing for a few days a week. By Wednesday though things start to ramp up.

Paul is away at the moment so this week and next week I am assisting coach Sal in covering the Wednesday and Friday Swim Smooth sessions. In between those two sessions on Thursday I will running the Tempo bike session for Front Runner and then on Saturday to finish of the session I will be running a mega brick session for the Front Runner crew again. Besides all that I will be catching up with a few athletes to see how they are going and to plan the next phase of their training.

Phew I am tired just typing all that.

While it will be a busy week, I am looking forward to all of those sessions. The swim sessions on Wednesday and Friday are particularly tough work, but heaps of fun, catching up with everyone and running them through the program I always enjoy those sessions a lot.

The bike on Thursday is a bit harder because really it is one of those sessions that would be best coached from the bike, but I can't really spend enough time on the bike to make it work well. That means I have to plan the session in a way that I can coach it effectively from the side of the road. Last week we did it is King's Park which worked very well and I think I might do something similar this week.

The brick session on Saturday I am particularly looking forward to. That will actually be two sessions. A long run simulation for the 70.3 athletes and a transition practice multi-brick for the Sprint distance athletes. I suspect juggling the two sessions will offer some challenges, but on the whole I am really looking forward to this session. Should be a very fulfilling one to see the athletes do.

Very full on week coming up. Can't wait.
