Over It

In my experience there comes a time in every winter where you have had enough. You are sick of the cold, the wet and the wind. For me that time is this week.

I am a winter person, I typically like winter more than summer, at least if you are cold you can put on more clothes, but in summer you are simply hot. However, no matter how much you like winter, it does start to wear thin after a while. You get sick of being wet and cold.

This winter started out so nice in Perth, we had days of clear skies and mild temperatures. Deep down we all knew it couldn't last, but it was nice while it did. However, since July, Winter has really struck back with a vengeance. We are now looking like having one of the wettest winters we have had in years. The days of strong winds and cold temperatures are more common than not at the moment. Just when you think you have seen the back of the nasty weather more rolls in to soak you again.

This weekend is one where I feel like I spent more time damp and cold than otherwise. That probably isn't true, but that is how it feels. Today wasn't too bad, but as I sit and listen to the weather tearing around outside I can't help but think of the bike session that I am coaching in the morning. Last week it was a cold damp ride and tomorrow may well be similar (although hopefully not). I have my fingers crossed for dry weather, I am not really in the mood for another session of getting rained on.

Of course in a few months time I will be on this blog typing about how much I don't like Summer and just dreaming of winter again when it will be nice and cool. But for now I reserve the right to feel cold and miserable and whinge about it.

Bring on Summer.

Or at least Spring....
