Yesterday I wrote about Friday being a pretty good day in terms of sport. I got some good coaching experience and then I met marathoning legend Steve Moneghetti. Not a bad day all up.
As good as Friday was for sport, the last couple of days have been a even better ones with the family.
As I mentioned yesterday, the family unit spent the last couple of days up at our little slice of heaven in Guilderton.
The last two days have been flat out family, beach in the morning, playing down the river in the afternoons. Playing in boats, on boards, and lots and lots of digging in sand. I even got my little girl to finally have a fun in the surf. It has been an awesome couple of days.
This was my first visit to Guilderton since I have had to ease back on the training, and I have to say it was a great break. Being up there without the distraction of trying to fit in training, without feeling like I was missing out on sessions, but simply being able to relax and enjoy being at Moore River with the family. It was a wonderful couple of days.
We are all shattered now of course, but it is the righteous exhaustion of knowing you have wrung about as much life out of a couple of days as you possibly can. I can't think of a better way to have spent the last two days.
