Still and Quiet

Sorry for no post yesterday, it has been a busy weekend. However, the busyness of this weekend has been the right sort of business.

Yesterday afternoon and this morning I was busy doing this:

This was the annual Dad's and Kid's camp at our kids' school. As the name suggests this camp is the annual event where we camp on the school oval overnight. It is an evening filled with quite a bit of playing and adventure and very, very little sleep. I think between the last kid falling asleep and the first one waking up I had around 4 hours of sleep. There is much tiredness today.

Given the tiredness from last night, there hasn't been much of anything done today. Quite a bit of sitting around and being very quiet. Certainly not much by way of exercise.

Yesterday it was a different matter though. Yesterday I got out for another ride with the Break Your Limits Juniors. If I am honest I suspect I rode harder than I should have during periods of the ride, but at the same time, it felt kind of good to do so. It was also great to get through 75km or so of cycling in one piece.

As always it was impressive watching the BYL Juniors at work. As with last week their work ethic is beyond reproach. Steve puts them to the task and they go at it, no questions, no hesitation. Some of them succeeded at the session and some of them didn't, but they all attempted it and gave it their full effort, which is all an athlete can do. Watching them work makes me think a lot of senior triathletes could learn something from how they train.
