#blessed

I must admit I have been a bit slack with my Standup Paddling of late. I mean if you are going SUP paddling and you don't post a photo of it on Instagram are you even #blessed.

So, in order to rectify my slackness, here is a quick little clip from my paddle this morning. #YOLO etc

In all seriousness the paddle this morning was quite nice. As you can see in the clip above the weather was rather lovely and the paddling felt good too. Not quite as quick as yesterday, but it felt rather a bit nicer and a lot more controlled. A technically better paddle I suspect.

As good as the paddle was it was nothing compared to the jog I just got back from. I nearly didn't bother heading out as I had a long day at work today and with nothing to train for, the motivation was a little lacking. I knew I would feel better after a jog though and so off I went. I started off with my usual gentle jog but not far in I gave into temptation and started actually running instead. From there there was no going back.

The further I ran the more surprised I was by how good it felt. The heart rate was up, but still below the 'moderate' limit given to me by Dr Stobie. The rest of the body felt good too, legs, lungs the whole lot. In the end I got through 10km before I deciding not to push my luck any further. By the end I was stoked to see that I had got through the 10km in less than 50 minutes. It isn't much compared to where I was a mere 4 months ago, but I never thought I would be running sub 5 minutes again. I will take it.
