Today is a little bit of a self indulgent post, but today the blog passed a big, big milestone so I will ask you to give me this one. Tomorrow things will get back to the usual triathlonness.

Today the blog finally, finally passed one hundred thousand visits. In this day and age of people having thousands of followers and Youtube videos about cats getting 10 million views one hundred thousand isn't that big a deal, but it is to me. This is my party and I will boast if I want to.

I started this blog way back on April 26th 2013, which means I have been doing it for just under 3 years and 9 months. In that time I have made 1293 posts, which by my rough calcs means I have missed posting on about 63 days. 63 days out of 1356 isn't bad going I think. Particularly for something that I thought might last for about a month when I first started it.

100000 (100159 to be exact) views over the past 1356 days averages out to about 73 views a day. Of course for the first couple of years the daily views were usually lower than that and in the last 12 months the daily views have been much higher, but I will take 73 as an average. I don't have 73 relatives so it means that at least a couple of people who aren't related by blood or marriage must be reading.

Those readers are from an interesting cross section of the world. Half of them are from Australia which isn't surprising. Another 20000 have come from the US. 12000 from France which does surprise me, but in a good way. After that there is a great spread of countries represented, a couple of thousand of views from the UK, some from Germany, Russia and Singapore to name a few. Kind of cool to see people reading from all around the world. It makes you realise just how powerful the internet is.

For those who are interested the most popular of my posts are a mix of race reports and products reviews. The outright winner is my race report for the 2013 Ironman WA which has been read about 1200 times. After that reviews of the Lazer Wasp Air, Caden Wheels and the Cervelo S5 have also all been popular with about 1000 views apiece. Given that people obviously like reading these things I will make sure I producing them.

I am really blown away that this blog has finally reached this milestone. To think that enough people have clicked on one of the blog entries to get up to 100000 kind of amazes me. I honestly never thought that many people would stop by to have a look at my piece of the internet. It certainly wasn't in my thoughts when I first started.

So for everyone who has come past the site and have a read, thank you. Whether you have come past just once, or whether you check every day, thanks for making the effort.

People ask me why I write this and the answer is one that has two parts. The first reason that I write this is selfish, I enjoy it, even if nobody read it I would probably do it anyway. Having said that, the second reason I write it is because people seem to enjoy reading it. Having somebody come up and say that they read the blog and enjoyed it, or found it useful gives me the biggest buzz.
