A bit more progress today towards the norm.
Today I spoke to Dr Hewitt and got the go ahead to use my shoulder as normal. Not necessarily from a training point of view, but from a day to day living perspective. Dr Hewitt's view on it is that the shoulder is healed, that is why I had a plate in it for 14 weeks. I can now feel free to use it as I normally would. This is another piece in the puzzle of life gradually returning to normal.
Another big part of life returning to normal is that Daryl and I have sat down and done some preliminary planning for the rest of the year. Certainly some interesting races coming up and having a plan actually written down makes the return to training and racing feel just a little bit more real. I may even enter a race tomorrow. Ooooo....
Speaking of having things written down, as well having a plan for the rest of the year, I have also just received my first training program from Daryl in three and a half months. It is a pretty gentle start to things, as you would expect, but it is a start nonetheless.
I am really looking forward to the return to routine. As I mentioned yesterday work has been quite busy recently and it will be great to regain the stress relief and focus that comes with exercise and racing.
Things are slowly falling back into place.
