Wow, what a crazy day over at Roth. Monster event. Watching the coverage and seeing all the updates from friends, looks like it was a tough day out. Still some awesome performances by the Break Your Limits folks. Great to watch.
Closer to home, a bit of running this morning. Finally. It wasn't a crazy session, nor was it speedy, but the fact that it happened at all is significant. For the first time in a long time, running with no real pain. Well there was some pain, says the guy typing with ice on his leg, it is running and it is me after all. But no injury type pain. The promised land is here.
I am really looking forward to getting back to the point where running is fun again. It feels like it has been a long time since I had that. I am being very careful to not rush the process at the moment, since that is a surefire way of finding an injury. But if I can avoid all that and just find my way back to the that running happy place, that will be a big win for me.
Training this week is all about easing my way back in. Sort of like getting into a hot bath. One toe at a time. A bit of running today. A bit of a trainer session tomorrow. A bit of swimming on Wednesday. I am enjoying watching my body slowly return to normal. I would be happier if it was quickly returning to normal, but I can live with slowly for now.
If I survive this week then training will kick up a gear proper next week. I think I will focus on surviving this week first though.
