In fact it has taken until my parents just arrived with their wireless broadband dongle to get me on the internet properly.
Anyway, so the last couple of days of Busselton 70.3 prep have gone fine. I had a nice swim down at Claremont with the Swim Smooth squad yesterday morning before spending the rest of the morning packing and getting ready. We picked our daughter up from school at lunch time and then by 2:00 we were away. We had a pretty smooth drive down and were all settled by around 5:00pm. The only speed bumps to the day being that the bike got a little rained on during the drive down and I forgot my toothbrush.
Today has been a cruisy day with the family. I have learnt from experience that I taper better when I keep busy, rather than sitting in a hotel room wrapped in cotton wool. So today has been filled with a number of activities. Besides buying a toothbrush I have been for a run on the course, put the bike together and done a number of touristy type things with the family. All up a good day, and one of the reasons I came down early this year. It is nice to be able to do these last few days of prep without trying to fit in work too.
The weather has been a little wild today with some rain and a fair bit of wind, but by all accounts that should start to clear tonight, so no big worries there.
Tomorrow things get a bit more serious with a bit of a ride followed by registration and bike racking, as well as a briefing in the afternoon. My plan will be to get the registration done early and the racking done in the early afternoon just before the briefing. That should free me up to have a fairly relaxed evening and an early night. I should be able to jump online before then for another update.
