Happy 2nd Birthday

So today this blog is officially two years old.

I really can't believe I have been writing this for two years. It doesn't feel that long. In that time there have been about 693 posts, 694 as of this one. Not bad going if I may say so myself. When I set out to do start this blog I decided right from the start that I would try and do an update everyday. I knew that if I didn't get into a routine then it would be something that I never quite got around to and the blog would remain un updated for weeks at a time. I figured writing a little something regularly was a good way to avoid that. Besides once I got going I found I really enjoyed it, so I didn't really need much of an excuse to write more. 693 posts out of 730 days, plus some race reports etc, is not a bad strike rate in my books.

Over the course of the last two years this blog has had just over 38000 visits. I know some of those visits have come from people who stumble on the site looking for a race report, and I know a bunch of others have come from people that I am related to either by blood or marriage. But some of those 38000 views have also come from people who visit the site and then after doing that keep coming back. I would just like to take a minute to say thanks to you folks, you know who you are. The regular support means a lot to me.

When I first started this I didn't really know how long I was going to be able to keep it up for. I am not sure if I really thought I would make it to two years. Now that I am here though, it doesn't seem like it was that hard. I certainly have no plans to stop anytime soon. I am still enjoying writing it, and people still seem to be getting something from visiting. Whilst those two things continue to happen I will keep on writing. Hopefully this is the second of many birthdays that the site has.
