Another day

On the third day of illness my man flu gave to me

A throat that is a little mucusy

So, yep, still sick (insert thumb twiddle here).

I think I am possibly feeling a bit better today, at least my resting heart rate seems to be back in realm of normal when checked under controlled conditions (sitting on the toilet obviously). So that is a big positive sign. My resting heart rate hasn't resembled normal for a few weeks.

Today is a nice turn around from yesterday. By the end of the day yesterday I was barely functioning. Just too long a day I think, everything was shutting down and my throat was killing me. Once I did collapse into bed I more passed out than went to sleep. I didn't budge for the next 8 and a bit hours. When I first woke up this morning things didn't look all that much better, to the point where I was considering another day off work. I improved once I was mobile though and I have been a functioning human for most of today.

Hopefully another night of non consciousness will yield some further improvements in the morning. So far this has been one of the most stubborn colds I have ever had, particularly this latest version of it. I don't think I have ever had a sore throat for 4 days before.

As with any illness I know that given time I will get over it and feel normal again. But there is a big difference between knowing it and really believing it. Hopefully I improve enough to start believing it a bit more tomorrow.
