Another baby step

This morning it was back in the shoes and on to the footpath for another run. This one was a bit longer and a bit tougher than yesterday's. Once again it went okay. Once again it hurt.

The party piece of the session was 10 x 3 minute intervals. In case you were wondering yesterday's run was 6 x 3 minutes. I was quite happy with how I held it together for the first 6 or 7, but started to fade fairly hard towards the end. Some of that fade might be residual fatigue from yesterday's run, but I suspect most of it is just from a lack of running. Still it wasn't a complete explosion and I managed to hold my target times, so really I am counting that as a win.

The session alone wasn't that impressive, but as you may gather from the title, taken in the context of getting back to race fitness it was a good baby step.

Tonight, it is time for a bit of a sit on the Kickr. I haven't been on the trainer for a while, a bit of me is looking forward to it. The session is a good one without being a killer one, not that long and not that intense. Hopefully it ends up being a bit of fun.

Outside of training, the work that I been killing myself with for the last few days is finally complete. As well as big a massive weight off my mind, it also means that I am not quite so flat out anymore. As a bit of a reward I am planning on having a Rostered Day Off tomorrow. It will be a nice chance to relax a bit and do some last minute Christmas shopping. You never know, I might finally get around to putting the P5 together.
