Darwin

Well here I am in Darwin. Hot, hot Darwin. I mentioned yesterday that I wasn't sure if I would get to doing an update and in the end I just couldn't get there. To much stuff to do. Still here I am.

I am still coming down from the race a little, even last night sleep was tough. Pumped would be selling it short. Things are slowly settling back to normal though, I even did a bit of training this morning which was a little bit of a shock to the system. I headed down and joined in with Daryl's swim squad at Casurina Pool for an easy rolling over of the arms. Whilst it started off rather painful, by the end I was feeling a lot better and was glad that I went to the effort. Very good to catch up with everyone too.

Tonight I have a bit of a spin on the bike. A sweaty, sweaty spin. Just an easy roll around some of my favourite Darwin roads. Hopefully the heat doesn't jump up and get me. Even without the heat I think my quads may object if I try and make the ride anything other than an easy spin. They would easily be the sorest part of me from the race. Still I suspect it will be like the swimming, once I get going the legs will ease back into it.

As reluctant as the body is with returning to motion I am mindful that I am racing in Phuket in a mere two and a half weeks, so I don't have much time for hanging around. The rest of this week is still fairly light, which is necessary for recovery. However, this weekend, back to it.
