I have successfully wrestled the keyboard away from my wife and it is now me again. Or is it...
Yes, yes it is.
I had been thinking about it on the bike yesterday and thought it would be fun to do something different for once. So a big thanks for the lovely Mrs Cross for helping me out.
So back to me and the enthralling topic of my training.
As Mrs Cross mentioned yesterday I had a run off the bike yesterday which went okay. It had plenty of pluses and minuses. The big plus was that it was the most I had run for a long time. I did 11km and I would think the majority of that was running. I had a few minutes of walking here and there as my back required, but mostly it was running. The back was getting sore towards the end, but I was encouraged by just how much running I was able to do. I think I had sort of forgotten just how hard running is. Oh well.
The biggest minus was that my back still got sore, really pretty sore towards the end. But so far it seems to have pulled up okay. In fact it is feeling pretty good today. I have another run tomorrow, so I will see how it is feeling then. Hopefully it continues to improve. I am happy to put up with some pain as long as I am not putting myself backwards.
Back on the bike this morning for a bit of a recovery spin. Ride was nice, although the legs were feeling the weekend a little. Winter has certainly found Perth over the last couple of days, to the point that this morning was my first damp ride of the year. Not wet yet, still just damp, I didn't actually get rained on, but the roads where wet for most of it. Lots of very careful cornering. Plus I had a few Oh Sh... type clouds, you know the ones where you look up and see a very big, dark cloud sitting above where you are heading. The clouds thankfully had moved on by the time I got there, but I had a few apprehensive moments. At least it isn't cold yet.
I am sure we will be getting back to drier weather before Winter finds us properly, but the last couple of days have given us a bit of a preview.
Still haven't figured out where that cab came from yesterday morning...
