Day of Rest

I am having a bit of a rest day today. No great reason, just thought it would be nice.

This week has been a recovery week from the race on Sunday and as such I have had no scheduled exercise. Since Tuesday I have been trying to do something every morning, increasing in duration and intensity each session. I am under strict instructions to not run at all this week, so that really just leaves swimming and riding. I plan on going for a ride tomorrow morning and might head out for another swim on Sunday, so I thought I would take the chance today to just take it easy, so that is what I am doing. Nice to have a sleep in now and then. Next week there will opportunity enough for the training bit.

Big weekend of racing this weekend, although thankfully not for me. A bunch of my old training buddies from Darwin are heading down to Canberra for the 70.3, including my coach Daryl Stanley. I suspect there are a couple of monster performances lurking within that group. I don't want to say too much now in case I jinx it, but if by the end of Sunday there are a couple of Darwinites right near the pointy end of the Age Grouper field, let's just say I won't be surprised.

Anyway Good Luck to all you Darwinites heading to Canberra, have fun and hopefully you don't freeze off anything vital.

In other unrelated news, I hit a little bit of a milestone yesterday. This blog passed 10000 views. I never really expected many people to drop past this blog, so I am a bit amazed that I have passed 10000. So thanks to everyone who has swung by and had a read, or if in the event that all those views are from one guy clicking 10000 times, thanks to you lone reader.

I do this partly because I just plain enjoy it, but also because I hope that people might get something from it, whether it be some entertainment or some information. For those who come by and have a read I hope that the blog has managed to achieve some of that. I will endeavour to try and keep providing it.
