This is why she hates me

A long ride this morning. the ride itself wasn't much of a problem, it was a long steady ride which is one of my favourite sessions. No the issue was more that the weather this morning (and all day) has been absolutely horrible. It rained for the first hour or two and after four hours or so the bike was covered in so much road crud that it looked like I had been riding offroad. The gears took on a thoroughly unlovely crunching noise.

I was planning on getting some photos, but luckily (?) for me it rained for the last bit of the ride washing the worst of the dirt etc off. Still the rain didn't wash it all off.

There is a derailleur in there somewhere

I reckon I must have picked up half the loose sand in Perth.

Despite all that the ride was pretty okay. I would usually use the TT bike on a ride like this, but given the weather, there was no way I was going to take out the P5. So it was a ride for the training bike instead. I think rides like this might be why she hates me. If she doesn't, then maybe she should.

Off to Darwin tomorrow morning. A lot of the hotels have pretty rubbish internet policies, 'oh yes we charge you $300 a night, but wireless is extra'. I sort of refuse to pay extra for wireless on principal, so I will see how I go for updates. They might be a bit hit and miss for the next week or so.
