Nice ride this morning out on the P5. One of the more solid I have had since getting the bike. Good to feel a bit more comfortable on it. It was quick to, which is always reassuring. I have encountered one of the limitations of this sort of bike though, it is a fair effort to adjust anything. I would really like to drop the handlebars by a spacer. But doing so involves disconnecting the brakes and gears, removing the respective cables, removing a spacer and then running all the gear and brake lines again. Something that is beyond the average home mechanic. Beyond me I daresay. You only have to get it right once, but getting it right can be a little bit of an ordeal. That sort of fiddling is going to have to wait until after Cairns I think.
I didn't go into this bike blind, I knew this sort of inconvenience would be the case. It doesn't stop it being any less frustrating though.
I had a very welcome package arrive yesterday. My new wetsuit finally arrived. I won this wetsuit in a random draw at the Murrayman in South Australia last year. It has taken a while to get my hands on it, but I finally managed yesterday. The wetsuit is a Xterra Vector X3 and at first impressions it seems good.
